Meet Cal Lahteenmaa, Emerson Network Power’s technical director for Telecoms in Asia Pacific. As a subject matter expert, Cal has a thorough understanding in all site engineering and infrastructure activities specifically in design and build of core network equipment centers and remote access sites for all telecom network technologies. In addition, he has extensive experience in working with customers, resolving issues and building strong customer relationships. 

Says Cal, “Cloud computing brings enormous potential for telcos if they get aggressive about driving technological innovation there.” He says that telcos are already behind the high density movement and in order to keep pace they’ll need to move on a faster rate. Of course, telco’s will need better technology than the equipment they have today. “Going high density increases network traffic and utilization, which adds value to the network in numerous ways and creates new revenues.”
