Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Emerson Network Power’s 4th year of symposium series, the Energy Logic event, culminated in a collaborative finale at Malaysia’s One World Hotel, with over a hundred delegates enjoying a day of presentations, networking and panel discussions.
The event commenced with customer advocate speaker Afzal Abdul Rahim of the AIMS Asia Group. Keeping the ball running, Chan Chee Wah, managing director of Emerson Network Power for Southeast Asia, introduced the Energy Logic approach and its relevance in today’s data center concerns.
“While power, cooling and space constraints and availability are the top concerns of facility and network managers, over the last two years, energy efficiency has emerged into the top five lists of concerns. These managers are looking for an objective vendor-neutral analysis that is not focused on one part of the data center – that’s why Emerson Network Power’s Energy Logic provides us with quantified savings from different approaches that are actionable using various best-in-class technologies available today,” says Chan during his keynote presentation.
After the Energy Logic launch, ecosystem partner speakers Terry Seeto (Cisco), William Lim (Dell), and Terry Ho (IBM) shared their respective energy-efficient solutions. Their presentations were further bolstered with the presence of ecosystem partner booths, stationed near the conference room.
During the afternoon session, Henry Ng, Andy Liu, Ross Hammond, Chew Cheng Kiat and Peter Simon presented Emerson Network Power’s extensive range of energy-efficient solutions from power, cooling to monitoring and services.
“Cooling represents the single largest component of energy use in most data centers. So, that’s what Emerson Network Power has done with its Energy Logic, its new roadmap outlining a prioritized approach to reducing energy use in the data center,” said Chew during his presentation on cooling.
These presentations were likewise supported by a solutions gallery featuring Emerson Network Power’s Data Center in a Rack (DCIR), which allowed delegates to see a ‘working model’ in the conference.
The conference was hosted by Emerson Network Power, the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™. The Energy Logic event marks the 4th year of the Emerson symposium series, which has reached over 5,000 IT&T professionals around Asia Pacific to date.
