Manila, Philippines – Emerson Network Power, the global leader in Business-Critical Continuity™, unveiled its Energy Logic roadmap to nearly 200 delegates at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. Consulting engineers, IT and facility managers and business leaders discuss solutions on optimizing energy use and minimizing critical resource constraints – power, cooling and space. Local media were also on hand to cover this event.
The Energy Logic symposium commenced with Emerson Network Power’s Anand Sanghi, Vice President for Marketing, Asia Pacific. Sanghi presented the Energy Logic approach and its ability to improve the overall efficiency of data centers.
"As a global leader, Emerson Network Power is proud to bring the Energy Logic approach to our customers in Asia. With rising energy costs and enhanced focus on being green, customers in Asia are looking for strategies to reduce datacenter energy consumption. Energy Logic presents an actionable roadmap and brings the IT and Facility managers on the same page. Together with our Energy Logic Ecosystem partners -- Cisco, Dell and IBM -- Emerson demonstrates how dealing with IT equipment first magnifies the energy efficiency of nearly every other facet of the data center infrastructure. For example our analysis shows that in a 5,000 square foot datacenter a 1 watt reduction at the server level results in a savings of 1.84 watts of power in the power and cooling infrastructure. This approach can also help save upto 65% on floor space while freeing up power and cooling capacities," said Sanghi.
After the Energy Logic presentation, speakers from ecosystem partners Albert Villanueva (Dell), Damian Ryan (Cisco) and Oh Bee Joo (IBM) discussed a wide range of topics ranging from best-in-class technologies and practices to trends in IT virtualization and consolidation. Their presentations were supported with the presence of ecosystem partner booths, located outside the conference room.
The first part of the session ended with a ‘Ask the Experts’ portion. Delegates had the opportunity to ask certain questions pertaining to cooling, virtualization and server consolidation.
The afternoon session, meanwhile, featured speakers from Emerson Network Power. Por Lau, Arunangshu Chattopadhyay, Paul Churchill, RS Nalakumar and Eric Rivas presented the company’s 360-degree solutions from power, cooling, enclosures to monitoring and service. These topics were likewise supported by a solutions gallery.
The conference was hosted by Emerson Network Power, the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™. The Energy Logic event marks the 4th year of the Emerson symposium series, which has reached over 5,000 IT&T professionals around Asia Pacific to date.
