Singapore – The Energy Logic Symposium Event Series, now in its second series, was held on April 11 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. More than a hundred participants – mostly IT professionals, consulting engineers, and business and industry leaders - joined the symposium event.
Composed of two sessions, the symposium’s morning session kicked off with the Energy Logic launch presented by Emerson Network Power’s Seah Siow Teck, vice president, key accounts – Asia Pacific.
“Our customers are telling us that Energy Logic is very timely in today’s business climate, the approach quantifies savings and provides an estimated time to return on investment of each recommended action,” says Seah during the Energy Logic launch.
After the keynote presentation, ecosystem partners’ speakers Mark Swalwell (Dell), Jang Thye Cheng (Cisco), and Alex Tay Soon Lai (IBM) presented their respective energy- and cost-efficient solutions that enhance IT system performance and flexibility.
In the afternoon, speakers, Andy Liu (racks), Ross Hammond (power), Tan Yu Ming (cooling), Peter Simon (monitoring), and Eric Rivas (services) shared the latest extensive range of Emerson Network Power solutions that ensure high availability, scalability and energy efficiency.
To complement the presentations, an Emerson Network Power solutions gallery, as well as ecosystem partner booths was installed in the vicinity to provide participants with a working model of energy-efficient solutions with related brochures.
In the last part of the event, a ‘Ask the Experts’ session was conducted, allowing participants to collaborate with the speakers. The session yielded some observations – global competition and environmental concerns are pushing CIOs and IT professionals to carry out strategies that deliver operational efficiency and look for ways to ‘get more with less’. Fortunately, there are technologies available, such as Virtualization, blade servers, precision cooling - that can deliver savings without compromising performance and availability.
