Sydney, Australia – Emerson Network Power, the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™ launched the Energy Logic symposium event in Sydney, Australia at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney, July 3. Over a hundred delegates, mostly IT professionals, market and industrial leaders, alliance partners, and consulting engineers, joined the one-day symposium event.
Heading the symposium event is keynote speaker, Chris Mandahl, Emerson Network Power’s director for enterprise sales for Australia. Armed with presentations, Mandahl explained the specific steps of Energy Logic to reducing energy usage in the data center.
“The 10 specific steps enable up to 50% reduction in overall data center energy consumption; frees up two-thirds of floor space; and saves up to one-third of UPS capacity and 40% of cooling capacity.All of the technologies used in the Energy Logic approach are available today and many can be phased into the data center as part of regular technology upgrades/refreshes, minimizing capital expenditures.”
Ecosystem partner speakers Brad Engstrom (Cisco), Stephen Hemsworth (Dell), David Yip (IBM) and VMWare discussed their respective energy-efficient solutions from best-in-class technologies and practices, virtualization and server consolidation.
The afternoon session highlighted presentations from Emerson Network Power’s solutions experts – Richard Wixon (racks), Mark Deguara (power), Mark Raicevich (cooling), Peter Simon (monitoring) and Ben Graham (service).
Presentations from the morning and afternoon sessions were further bolstered with the presence of ecosystem partner booths and solutions gallery in the vicinity. These provisions gave delegates a thorough understanding on today’s best-in-class technologies. The event concluded with a ‘Ask the Experts’ session. Delegates were given the opportunity to ask questions, which the speakers readily answered.
