As the product director for Emerson’s telecom business, Danny is responsible for the management and support of outside plant (OSP) and hybrid power solutions for the entire Asia Pacific region. His over a decade’s experience in the telecom sector has provided him a profound understanding of industry issues and customer’s business challenges.

“The rapidly increasing costs of electricity and fuel, combined with the desire to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is pushing the development of renewable energy system suited for remote locations,” says Danny.

According to him there are many types of pure and hybrid solutions available and each solution addresses a specific requirement. “The solution will be determined by the location of the settlement. We need to first establish the potential of the renewable solution in that area. For instance, solar isn’t perfect for everyone; it works better for some sites than others. We need to assess first if the location provides perfect conditions for making solar, wind or any other type of renewable energy.”
