Cloud adoption is accelerating in the Asia Pacific. This, according to international research firm IDC, which suggests that the heightened interest in cloud computing has renewed focus on enterprise IT as a business enabler and competitive differentiator.

Obviously the Cloud Computing framework requires key technology investments to work. IDC suggests that all CIOs today should focus on how their choice of IT can help their respective enterprises to get to this point. Any IT deployment, any IT plan and every IT strategy today should be seen in the light of how enterprise IT can be changed from being technology centric to being business centric.

In this issue, we take a closer look at Cloud Computing -- what it means, what technologies fall under it, why it should be of interest to you, and what you should do to prepare for it. We also feature a Cooling solution – the Liebert XDR – which is designed to cool high-density equipment characteristic of Cloud support infrastructure.

Finally, we’re gearing up for our participation at the AFCOM Asia Pacific Symposium at the Swissotel Sydney on May 15 to 17. Emerson Network Power will be exhibiting at the event as well as giving a presentation on future trends in Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM). If you happen to be in the area, we invite you to join this anticipated event. For more information, visit http://www.afcom.com/asiapacific/asiapacific_symposiumhome.html.
