Emerson Network Power has just unveiled a new division for data center infrastructure management. Combining Aperture’s powerful infrastructure software with Avocent’s management systems platform, the new division provides a robust portfolio of data center infrastructure management solutions. The new division will be led by President Stephen C. Hassell, who previously served as Emerson Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) since 2004.

Increase operational efficiency
Hassell will lead this new division that will report to Emerson group vice president Bob Bauer. Hassell has been working for Emerson and he previously served the company as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Hassell said the market is ready for an infrastructure management solution that can increase energy and operational efficiency as well as improve availability. Both companies will put together all relevant resources and will aim to deliver a unique solution to worldwide customers.

While managing his team as a CIO for Emerson, Hassell managed the company’s information technology strategy, and has first-hand experience in data centre design and management. Currently, his team is handling a global consolidation of more than 100 data centres across the globe.
