Emerson Ranked as Largest Company in Electronics and Electrical Equipment Category on Fortune 500 List

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (May 26, 2009) – Emerson has been ranked as the largest company in the electronics and electrical equipment category on the Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations. Additionally, the magazine ranked Emerson 11th among the 20 most profitable technology companies.
Emerson’s 12 percent revenue growth in fiscal 2008 helped propel the electronics and electrical equipment category to 18th in the magazine’s “top industries: fast growers” ranking, compared to 28th in 2007. The category overall showed revenue growth of 9.3 percent compared with 6.7 percent revenue growth in 2007.

Emerson, which has achieved Fortune 500 status every year since 1958, ranked 94th overall on this year’s list of the largest U.S. companies based on gross revenue. Emerson’s overall ranking improved compared with 2008, when the company was ranked 111th.
