The UPS Sizing Tool can be launched from the Channel Website (www.emersonnetworkpower-partner.com) or you can directly go to www.emersonnetworkpower-partner.com/UPS_Sizing. Remember to disable any pop-up blocker in your browser window.

Why am I being asked for contact details?
Providing correct contact details will allow us to contact you regarding your inquiries. Some solutions that the tool cannot generate automatically needs to be emailed to the email address you registered at the beginning of the tool. Your contact information is important so we can give you a call or send you an email when needed.
Can I change my contact details/information the next time I use the tool?
The contact details of the user prior to your current transaction are stored in your computer through a cookie, and these will be pre-populated in the contact details page the next time the tool is launched. Should you decide to change your contact details, please click on the CHANGE USER button to do so.

Does the tool enable multi-user capability? What if a number of people share in one computer to access the UPS Sizing Tool?
Anybody who has internet access can use the tool, but each individual user should provide his/her contact information separately. The tool requires validation of the contact details before you proceed with the inquiry requirements. The current user should confirm that the contact details stored belong to him/her before proceeding.
What is a project name? What can I use as a Project name?
The Project Name is the name you want to give that particular inquiry. It is a mandatory field that will distinguish your current inquiry from the rest. This may be a customer name or a particular project or bid you are participating in. For example, you can use ABC Inc. POS Project, Hi-Tech Mktg. Server Installation Project. Be sure that the project name contains keywords which you may use in future transaction searches. You may key in dates, company names or any other codes you may have. It is also recommended that you keep a list of these project names for your reference in the future.

What is growth rate factor?
The total load requirement is the sum of the loads of all the IT equipment requiring a UPS solution. The Growth Rate Factor is a percentage of how much load can possibly be added to the current total load required of a UPS. This is a safety measure that allows projected growth to be covered by the UPS capacity.
How many equipment can I enter into the tool?
There is no limit in the number of equipment you can put it. You can enter as many equipment as you have in the tool. When you select equipment from the picker, you will also see the total VA Rating of the equipment you have selected. This will more or less give you a hint on the UPS Solution you need for your IT equipment.

I cannot find the equipment I have from the list available in the tool. What shall I do?
In the Equipment selection page, you can select the button “I have other equipment not found in the list”. You then click Next and you will land on another page where you can type in your equipment details. These information will be sent to our team of experts who will analyze your requirements and who will send a solution recommendation to you by email.
Can I change my user details anytime while I am entering requirement details?
You can only change user details before you proceed with your requirement details or after you finish your current transaction.

Can I revise my equipment list even if I already have a solution recommendation?
In cases that you already have a recommended solution but still need to change some equipment details like quantity or model names, you can click on the Modify your Inquiry button. This will take you to the requirements details page. You can then revise the details accordingly.
Can the tool provide solutions for more than 10kVA requirement?
The current tool is designed to provide solutions with less than 10kVA requirement. However if the total load of the equipment you entered is more than 10kVA, your inquiry will be sent to our team of experts for analysis.

Can the tool generate solutions for equipment that are not singe phase?
As of now, the tool is designed for single phase equipment only. There are plans in the pipeline to develop a tool that will cater to 3-phase equipment.
How long will I have to wait before I get a response on my inquiry?
Upon submission for back-end processing, please expect an email of the recommended solution within two hours. Our team of experts may give you a call or email you some points for clarification regarding your requirement. In any case that you still do not receive an email within two hours from submission, you may alternatively send a followup email to UPStech@emersonnetworkpower.com. Please indicate your Inquiry Reference Number for faster transaction.

Who does the processing of my requests when it is processed at the back-end?
A team of expert technical support engineers specializing in uninterruptible power supplies shall carefully analyze your requirements and send you an email on their recommendations.
The information on the total load requirement I have is in kilowatts. How do I convert this to arrive at kVA units?
To convert KW to kVA units, you need to divide the KW by the power factor of typically o.6 or 0.7. The ratio between the VA (i.e. RMS volts time RMS amps) and Watts is called the power factor PF.

On what Operating System platform does the tool run on?
There will be no issues on the OS as this is a web based application. Internet connection is needed to be able to access the tool.
What internet browsers are recommended for optimal access to the tool?
It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer 5 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later and Opera 8.0 or later for optimal access to the tool.
