A good number of you planned on buying new equipment this year; however, given the economic condition, most of these plans have been left on the drawing board. I am sure most of you have been closely following the news and will often hear or read forecasts on when the economy will bottom out. Why all the fuss? Because once we hit bottom, there is nowhere to go but up. This is important because as we all cautiously move forward, we can be assured that this will not be a permanent economic reality. 

So let me share with you what best-in-class companies do during downturns – they Invest and Prepare for the changing market! Do not get caught flat footed when demand picks up. Do you know how much power and cooling you need if you increase the number of servers? Remember that downtime translates to thousands of dollars lost, which we cannot all afford to happen. Do the right thing – invest in strategic items and prepare.
